A relatively short day, giving your body a chance to recover before the summit. The trail continues across barren slopes of scree and volcanic rock, with occasional views of Kibo’s glaciers looming above. Barafu Camp, meaning “ice” in Swahili, sits high on the mountain’s western side and serves as the base for your midnight summit attempt. Early dinner and preparation for the physically demanding night ahead are essential

This is the ultimate day of your Kilimanjaro adventure. You begin your ascent around midnight under the stars, navigating steep switchbacks through glacial scree in sub-zero temperatures.
